The Karachi police have managed to recover 13-year-old Christian girl Arzoo Raja after she was allegedly abducted. The police have also apprehended the accused Ali Azhar, who converted her for the sake of marriage.
The story of Arzoo Raja had sparked outrage all over social media. People were disgusted to find out that a 13-year-old Christian girl was not only abducted but forcibly converted to Islam to marry a man who is twice her age.
According to her family, Arzoo was kidnapped by Ali Azhar on 13 October in Karachi’s Muhalla Railway Colony West Camp Road.

While the family was able to register a case, the police showed documents that claimed Arzoo is 18 years old and that she willingly converted to Islam. However, the family states otherwise and had evidence to prove that their daughter is only 13 years old.
There is also a petition for the protection of the girl’s family from alleged harassment.
The Karachi police recovered the 13-year-old Christian girl and arrested the accused Ali Azhar. Arzoo has been sent to Darul Aman (women’s shelter) as per orders of Sindh High Court.
Underage girls in such cases often come under pressure from families and threats to their well-being, which is why they can give false statements in court.
Arzoo as well as the accused, Ali Azhar, have been asked to present themselves to the court on 5 November.
