Prince Harry Claims He Was Unaware That ‘Paki’ Was a Racial Slur

He once hurled this slur at his Pakistani friend.

Prince Harry has recently made a shocking revelation about his past behavior during an interview with The Times.

The Duke of Sussex opened up about a conversation he had with a Pakistani friend a few years ago, where he was forced to apologize for his actions that were perceived as racist.

After a video showing him calling his Asian buddy Ahmed Raza Khan a Paki appeared in the media in 2009, the Duke of Sussex insisted that he had no bad intentions.

Writing in the memoir Spear, Harry recalled

I was sitting in Highgrove, watching the torrential rain, barely able to process it. My father’s office issued an apology on my behalf. I wanted to issue one too but the courtiers advised against it. Not the best strategy sir. To hell with strategy.

The father-of-two then acknowledged that he was concerned about how it might affect his friend Ahmed.

He admitted that,

I didn’t care about tactics. I cared about people not thinking I was racist. I cared about not being racist. Above all, I cared about Ahmed. I spoke to him directly. Contacted, apologized. He said he knew I wasn’t racist. No big deal. But it was. And his forgiveness, his easy grace, just made me feel bad.

The prince’s apology has also been seen as a sign of his commitment to creating a more inclusive and just society. Many have praised him for his courage in speaking out and for taking responsibility for his actions.

Furthermore, it serves as a reminder of the significance of being conscious of our own biases and educating ourselves about diverse cultures and origins.
