Priyanka Chopra is Not OK with Ongoing Protests in India

She expressed solidarity with the students.

Bollywood actress and UNICEF Goodwill Ambassador Priyanka Chopra has joined the list of celebrities to express their concerns over the police repression on JMI and AMU’s student protests.

The actor took to her Twitter on Wednesday, December 18 and emphasized the importance of independent voices, “We have raised them to have a voice,” she said.

Expressing her solidarity with the students and expressing her anguish on the situation of the country Priyanka wrote

“In a thriving democracy, to raise one’s voice peacefully and be met with violence is wrong. Every voice counts.”

After minutes of her tweet, fans admired her for voicing her opinion on the matter even at the expense of being targeted by internet Nazis.
