In a heartfelt post, Hrithik, who is also a famous actor himself, said that his dad ‘is the strongest man I know.’

Hrithik confirmed when his father got the news regarding the cancer. He states:

“Got diagnosed with early stage squamous cell carcinoma of the throat a few weeks ago, but he is in full spirits today as he proceeds to battle it. As a family we are fortunate and blessed to have a leader like him.”

The Roshan family is one of the highest profile families in the Bollywood film industry. They are also no stranger to cancer, as Sunaina Roshan, who is Hrithik’s sister, also had to battle cervical cancer during one point at time. Luckily, she was able to defeat it.

Rakesh Roshan started his acting career with the 1970 film Ghar Ghar Ki Kahani, where he played the supporting actor. He had a few solo hero films during his career. He’s now more known for catapulting his son to Bollywood stardom, directing many of the movies that Hrithik appeared in such as Kaho Naa… Pyaar Hai and Krrish. He also directed Karan Arjun.
