Rehman Malik Recites ‘Surah Ikhlas’ Incorrectly, Again [Video]

It would be the third time, the Former Minister, misread the ‘surah’ in public.

Rehman Malik

Former Interior Minister Rehman Malik is once again under the radar of public scrutiny. The PPP member attempted to recite Surah Ikhlas, however, it was incorrect.

Yesterday, during the Conference, PML-N Senator Javed Abbasi introduced a bill to make Arabic compulsory in educational institutes. JUI-F and Jamaat-e-Islami supported the bill, while PPP objected it.

The discussion turned into a quarrel when Deputy Chairman of the Senate, Maulana Abdul Ghafoor Haideri mocked at Rehman Malik. Referring to the 2010 incident, when Malik failed to recite Surah Ikhlas despite three attempts during a Federal Cabinet meeting, Maulana Abdul Ghafoor said that the PPP Senator may have many degrees but could not recite the Quranic verses.

Upon hearing this, Malik interrupted him and said that he had recited Surah Al-Ikhlas correctly and would recite it again today. He then went on to recite the Surah, but once again misread it.
