Saba Qamar made a very relatable skit for her new YouTube channel where she roasted hosts who ask these kinds of brainless questions.
The 36-year old Cheekh actress recently started her YouTube channel where she has been posting content straight from the heart. She revealed that she plans on creating and sharing her vision with the audience through this channel.
Her first video was posted almost 3 weeks ago, and the message it portrayed was beautiful and thought-provoking.
However, the Baaghi star’s recent YouTube video is very light and humorous. In fact, it reminds us of the Saba Qamar from her Hum Sab Umeed Say Hain days.
Female celebrities are often objectified or subjected to immodestly personal questions. And Saba Qamar’s hilarious yet on-point answer shows how actresses feel when they are on the other end, trying to keep their calm during these ridiculous interviews.
More often than not, actors are questioned on their beauty and compared with the previous celebrities from the Pakistani media industry. Saba shows how such questions should be answered.
I think actors should be natural and relatable. I want myself to be believable, and that people are able to relate me with their own selves.
The 12-minute long skit also covers the most insane questions and remarks that interviewers make. Like asking about one’s love life, or describing them with a rather objectifying adjective.
When badgered about her love life in the skit, Saba Qamar said,
Since a young age, girls are taught that you should rather die than leaving the first man in your life. This one sentence also ruined eight years of my life!
He was used to lying, misbehaving, assaulting, and later apologising and because commitment and marriage was the same for me, I kept going on for eight years thinking ‘it’ll get better’ but he didn’t get better, in fact, he ruined my mind!
That part about her speaking from her heart? It seems like she took no prisoners here!
It goes without saying that this skit speaks to us when it comes to sexism in society. Judging by the superb content she’s released so far, we are excited to see what more Saba has in store for us.
