Another Pakistani celebrity has decided to take a stand over India’s brutal repression of Kashmiris. This time its none other than Pakistani actress Sajal Aly who has turned down an offer to perform in a Bollywood film.
As per available details, the Mom star not only turned down the offer from the yet unnamed movie, she also had something to say about Lollywood stars collaborating with Bollywood.
Sajal believes that given the current tensions between the two neighbors, “no Pakistani artist should work in India until the end of atrocities and human right violations in the valley.”

Previously, Sajal and her real-life celebrity beau Ahad Mir had to face the heat after it emerged that they worked with Indian producers on the web series ‘Dhoop Ki Deewar.‘
Since the electronic media watchdog PEMRA had forbade Pakistani artists to work with professionals from across the border, the Pakistan Film Producers Association came out and called for people to cancel the couple.
It is hoped that Sajal Aly’s current stance will be able to clear the air regarding her decision of not working with Bollywood in any capacity. The actress states that her move is intended to show solidarity with Kashimiris who continue to suffer under Indian PM Modi’s rule.
She said that television actors have played a vital role in revival of film industry, however, the efforts of directors and producers should also be appreciated.
