Not surprising.

In an unprecedented move, the Punjab Assembly passed a resolution banning all the showbiz celebrities from attending and hosting Ramzan transmissions, this Friday.

Following that resolution, many celebrities are already indicating that they wont be doing any shows.

In an Instagram post on Saturday, Sanam Baloch clarified that she is not going to take part in any Ramazan transmission this year.

This year I’ve not joined the bandwagon of any Ramadan transmission, but here I’m sending all the wishes and luck to the ones who are, and would be providing us with pedagogic and pragmatic transmissions as usual. After morning show I had decided to take a break from daily transmissions and I will abide by it. It has come to my notice that certain channels and agencies are using my name, claiming I’m taking over their transmission. Well it’s unauthentic news. If there’s anything, you’ll hear from me first.

She said, on her Instagram

The post clearly shows that she is not going to be part of any Ramazan transmission this year. However, she wishes others the best of luck, especially those who may host the shows (which seems unlikely to say the least).

She clearly stated that she will take a break after her morning show.

Resolution Passed

Earlier, a lawmaker from the political party Rahe Haq moved a resolution that urged PEMRA to ban all showbiz celebrities from hosting Ramzan transmissions.

“In the race for media ratings, Ramzan transmissions are hosted by the people who know nothing about Islam”

They were also off the view that Ramzan transmissions should be hosted by Ulemas.

The resolution was unanimously passed.
