Actor and director Sangeeta just threw shade at Danish Taimoor’s work ethic, and that too in public. To add insult to injury the veteran from the biz said that Shaan Shahid has a better work ethic than Danish.
Danish Taimoor was cast as the lead in Sangeeta’s movie Tum Hi Toh Ho. It was slated for release in 2017 but was delayed because of some production issues. Now we finally know the reason why. Sangeeta blames Danish Taimoor for that.
In a press conference at Karachi Arts Council, Sangeeta said that Danish didn’t take her movie seriously. Making it a point to highlight ‘a stark contrast to Shaan’s commitment‘.
“Shaan would’ve never done that,”
Following that experience, it looks like Sangeeta has learnt the lesson. The director plans to cast Shaan Shahid and Saba Qamar in her next movie. She says the film will be inspired by Mera Naam Hai Mohabbat.
Danish Taimoor Isn’t the Only Problem
Besides the issue with Danish Taimoor, Sangeeta also has issues with today’s cinema houses.
She opened up about her struggle with theaters who couldn’t screen her film. Getting candid on the Bollywood prejudice towards Pakistani movies, she said:
“People just want to show Indian movies.”
The Bollywood ban might help her out in that regard. Sangeeta revealed that she intends to release one movie per year at least.
“I will cast new actors in my movies.”
She claimed to have directorial credits to 80 films under her belt. Before she can cast Shaan Shahid and Saba Qamar in her next, Sangeeta will have to warp up Tum Hi Toh Ho. Interestingly, the movie still doesn’t have a release date.
Tum Hi Toh Ho cast Danish Taimoor opposite an emerging actress Qurutulain, with the rest of the cast including Mathira, and Sangeeta herself
Meanwhile the movie’s title may have been tweaked, as is evident from the trailer here:
