Shaan Shahid Wants Major Movies To Stop Releasing on Eid

Here’s why he said this.

Shaan Shahid

Pakistani actor Shaan Shahid is known to have campaigned for uplifting the Pakistani film industry, way before the Bollywood ban. Now the Majajan actor thinks it is not good for the industry for all major movies to be released on the same day.

While Shaan Shahid does have an opinion about everything, Lollywood is kind of his forte. As usual, Shaan did not hesitate to express his opinion on social media, to be preserved in cyberspace forever.

It all started when fellow actor Faysal Qureshi tweeted this regarding major upcoming Lollywood movies..

Lollywood Movies for Eid-ul-Azha 2019

Parey Hut Love, Superstar, and Heer Maan Ja are all releasing on Eid ul Azha.

Looks like Pakistan’s three biggest entertainment channels will face off this Eid. Like film-maker Shamoon Abbasi mentioned previously, Pakistan’s biggest production studios actually belong to television channels.

All three work with various styles. Geo Films is widely known for going big with ideas like Bol, Dukhtar, Donkey King, etc.

ARY Films plays on stories like Waar, Dobara Phir Se, Load Wedding, etc

Meanwhile, HUM Films sticks to safe basics like Na Maloom Afraad, Bin Roye, 7 Din Mohabbat Inn, etc.

This year ARY Films has Parey Hut Love lined up for Eid. Paray Hut Love cast Sheheryar Munawar and Maya Ali as leads, with cameos from Meera, and Mahira Khan.

Geo Films teamed up with IRK Films and had Azfar Jafri create Heer Maan Ja. Heer Maan Ja cast the winning combination of Ali Rehman Khan and Hareem Farooq. To top that they already gave us this season’s mehndi anthem.

HUM Films brings back Mahira Khan (here’s to a safe, basic, winning formula) and a Superstar cast with Bilal Ashraf and many celebrity guest appearances.

Maybe Shaan Shahid is right. Looks like it will be a battle of rom-coms this Eid ul Azha.

The Real Deal With Shaan Shahid?

Meanwhile, Shaan Shahid is working on Zarrar for 2019.

Zarrar is scheduled for Eid-ul-Azha as well. As it happens, Eid-ul-Azha also falls on 14th August, which is when Pakistan celebrates its Independence Day. That was the plan for Zarrar’s release as well.

So the real reason Shaan Shahid said what he did? Your guess is as good as ours.
