Sania Mirza opened up about how she met Shoaib Malik. She thought it was fate that brought them together, but turns out Shoaib Malik staged the whole thing.
The Indian tennis star revealed that she met her future husband at a restaurant in Australia. The two already knew each other socially, just not personally during that point. Naturally, Sania thought this was a happy coincidence that they bumped into each other.
“We knew each other socially and then we bumped into each other at a restaurant in Hobart where you don’t even see animals/birds after 6pm, forget people.”

The twist
In an interview with India Today, the sportswoman revealed how Shoib Malik specifically came to that restaurant to bump into Sania Mirza. Sania revealed that she’s a big believer in destiny. The credit for this goes to Shoaib Malik though.
“Must have been destiny that we met over there to be very honest. Only later I realized that he [Malik] had actually planned to come to the restaurant because I was there. I was giving destiny all the credit but it was clearly not,”
This kind of proves the point that you have to work for love. Shoaib Malik’s been doing that since day one and the couple got hitched in April 2010.

The wedding ceremony was held in Hyderabad, India. This was followed by a reception ceremony in Shoaib Malik’s hometown, Sialkot in Pakistan. Recently in October, 2019 the couple welcomed a baby boy Izhaan Mirza Malik into the world.
About having Izhaan, Sania revealed that they planned to have their baby boy. She said;
“Making that decision at that point wasn’t so hard for me because, I was always very sure that if I sort of wanted to walk away from the game, or come out of it, or take a break I wanted to be on top. I was still in the top 10 in the world when I decided to have a baby. It was not something of an accident. We planned to have a baby, and we both were ready. It was as simple as that,”
