After ages of not seeing any exciting new content on television, Sarmad Khoosat just decided to re-release his sit-com Shashlik on digital media.
Sarmad Sultan Khoosat, who plays the role of Cheeku in the drama serial announced the re-releasing of the classic comedy. The move comes in order to reminisce the ‘golden childhood era’ of many elder millennials.
In a post on the official Facebook page of Khoosat Films, the Kamli director said;
“On popular demand, we are re-releasing 2002’s hit comedy series, Shashlik; the iconic Y2K sitcom that weaved song and dance sequences into its storyline and became a genre-breaking sensation of its time. The first 5 episodes are out now on our YouTube channel and Facebook page. New episodes will be released in sets of 5 every Saturday at 8:00 pm.”
While some people will be reliving their childhood with throwbacks to their favorite show. This is also an opportunity for others to explore the content.

This classic comedy was famed in the late 90s and early 2000s due to its unique comedy style which was a combination of music, laughter, and dance.They combined parodies and satire with spot music. Originally aired on Pakistan television (PTV) the show was aired for more than three years.
Shashlik cast Nadia Afgan as Mishi, Sarmad Khoosat as Cheeku, Fatima Ahmed Khan as Kummo, Mandana Zaidi as Munn, Wajeeha Tahir as Chunni, and Nasreen Qureshi as Phuppo.
