Pakistani social media is going crazy as Shafqat Mahmood has announced one month closure of educational institutes all across the country.

In the wake of the coronavirus outbreak, Federal Minister for Education Shafqat Mahmood on Monday (today) announced closing the educational institutes from November 26 to January 10.

The minister reiterates that health is the first priority for the government, and thus, they have decided to close educational institutes for the health and safety of the youth of the country. All examinations will be postponed, except for a few specialized exams which will take place as usual, however, proper SOPs will be followed.

“We have decided to keep all educational institutions, including schools, colleges, universities, and tuitions closed. However, online classes will be carried out from November 26 to December 24 after which winter break will start. Schools will reopen on January 11, 2021,” Shafqat Mehmood said.

As soon as the news was announced, Pakistani social media went crazy. Being students, we always wished for exams to get postponed and 2020 is making that wish come true, for most of us that is.
