In one of his recent Tweets, boom boom shared that he is visiting his ancestral home. The purpose of his visit is that he wants to meet his family, the locals, and get an update on his charitable hospital. Here’s what he wrote:

No matter where you live in the world it’s always important to connect with your roots to better your sense of identity. With the family visiting our ancestral village-great meeting the locals, family & to check on progress of the hospital, whilst indulging on local delicacies.

Born in the Khyber district of Peshawar, the batsman moved to Karachi with his family early on. His career as a member of the Pakistani cricket team kept him from visiting his hometown. But now, he’s back in Peshawar to enjoy its beauty and reconnect with his roots.

The all-rounder took to his Twitter account to share a video from his trip. Towards the end of the clip, he could be heard saying:

Mera aur apka Pakistan! [Mine and your Pakistan.] Beautiful!
