Renowned music artist and social activist Shehzad Roy is urging the government to teach Life Skills Based Education (LSBE) in all schools across the country. He believes this education is vital to protect children and ensure their dignity.

Roy, who is part of a Supreme Court case pushing for LSBE, stated that if introduced, these skills could save an entire generation.

He highlighted that LSBE would teach children crucial topics like safe and unsafe touch, private body parts, puberty, and how to report abuse.

Shehzad Roy praised the Sindh government for already starting this education, noting that it helps children understand and report abuse, especially since most abuse cases involve someone the child knows.

The Supreme Court has called on federal and provincial officials for the next hearing. Shehzad Roy and other petitioners want the court to order provinces to provide age-appropriate LSBE in all primary and secondary schools. They argue that LSBE makes children less likely to suffer from child sexual abuse and helps them understand their bodies and assert their rights.

Roy’s efforts aim to make it a constitutional duty for the government to ensure all children receive this important life-saving knowledge.
