Junaid Jamshed’s iconic patriotic song Dil Dil Pakistan is somewhat synonymous with Independence Day. So this year a Ukrainian singer, Nataliya Shmarenkova’s special cover of the song seems to even have Chief of Army Staff (COAS) General Qamar Javed Bajwa jammed to the song.
A video of Army Chief General Qamar Javed Bajwa enjoying a cover of the song performed by Ukrainian singer, Nataliya Shmarenkova is going viral online. The video was from a special celebratory event honoring Pakistan’s Independence.
However, where exactly did this event take place? Netizens tried to guess. Given how the COAS was recently at the Royal Military College, Sandhurst, people thought maybe in the United Kingdom.
Netizens claimed that the performance took place at an event held in the United Kingdom by the Pakistan High Commission in London, on the occasion of the 75th Independence Day of Pakistan.
However, Express Tribune is reporting that the viral video is a year old. Nataliya Shmarenkova actually performed the famous 80’s song at an event that took place in Ukraine during the army chief’s visit to the country last year.
