‘Social Media Should be Banned,’ Zara Noor Abbas Reacts to Online ‘Negativity and Trolling’

In a recent interview with Behtareen.pk, Pakistani star Zara Noor Abbas shared her views on the toxicity on social media. The actress thinks social media should be banned completely.

Zara Noor Abbas is all set to star in another HUM TV drama. Titled as Phaans, the actress will star along Sami Khan and Shahzad Sheikh. The first episode of the serial will go on air tomorrow, February 20.


In recent years, we have seen a drastic rise of social media. It has become convenient for everyone to share their opinions, but sometimes people don’t think before they act and try to impose their ideas on others.

This, according to Zara Noor Abbas puts pressure on them, specially public figures. The actress believes there is a lot of negativity on social media, which is why it should be banned.

“I personally think social media should be banned completely. I am saying this because there is a lot of negativity and trolling out there. But since so many people earn their living through social media, I think it changes from person to person. People should do what they are happy with.”

Zara Noor Abbas defends PSL anthem

Defending Naseebo Lal and the PSL Anthem, the Zebaish actress said she loved everything about it.

“The anthem was brilliant. Naseebo Lal looked amazing.”

Once again, she highlighted the criticism Groove Mera received on social media and said,

“Let’s hate less an love more. Whatever your country is doing, try and promote it in good faith. If you don’t like it, it’s fine but if you can do something better, go ahead and do it.”

She further added,

“I don’t know why people criticized it so much. Twitteratis, as they are called, love trolling people and and start trending stories. I think negativity attracts more attention, but then again, if someone is talking about something, I think it’s a hit.”
