You Can Now Bath With Sydney Sweeney

Just when you thought celebrity fandom couldn’t get any stranger, an American personal care company for men, Dr. Squatch, has announced a limited-edition soap made with actual bathwater from Hollywood actress Sydney Sweeney.

The viral soap is called Sydney’s Bathwater Bliss. The idea bubbled up after Sweeney’s viral ad campaign with Dr. Squatch last year, where she played the Body Wash Genie and cheekily called viewers “dirty little boys.” Fans, never ones to let a joke die, began clamoring for her bathwater. Instead of ignoring the odd request, Sweeney and Dr. Squatch leaned in—hard.

“I honestly think it’s a really fun, full-circle moment,” Sydney Sweeney told GQ, adding that she wanted to give fans what they (apparently) wanted, while also encouraging better hygiene. The soap itself is a blend of exfoliating sand, pine bark extract, and a scent inspired by Sweeney’s Pacific Northwest roots—think Douglas fir, earthy moss, and pine.

Dr. Squatch’s Senior VP of Global Marketing, John Ludeke, described the product as “bizarre, unexpected, and intended to get guys to think more deeply about the ingredients in the products they are putting on their bodies.” Because nothing says “self-care” like lathering up with a celebrity’s bathwater.

Only 5,000 bars of Sydney’s Bathwater Bliss will be made, with a giveaway running until June 5 for 100 lucky (or unlucky?) U.S. residents. The rest will have to wait for the official launch on June 6, presumably to see just how far the internet’s obsession with celebrity can go.

As Sweeney herself put it, “You can either ignore it, or turn it into a bar of Dr. Squatch soap.” And with that, the line between self-care and celebrity worship just got a little blurrier—and a lot weirder.
