‘Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah’ Actor Arrested for Theft

Popular Indian sitcom ‘Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah’ has come under the spotlight after one of it’s actor was caught chain snatching.

Popular Indian sitcom Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah has come under the spotlight as one of its actors has been arrested on the charges of theft and chain snatching.

Actor Miraj Vallabhdas Kapri, who has been seen in minor roles in Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah, resorted to criminal activities after he lost almost Rs 30 lakh to betting addiction. To repay his debts, the actor along with his friend, namely Vaibhav Babu Jadav started chain snatching on Mumbai streets.

The culprits were arrested from an area near the Rander Bhesan intersection in the Gujarat district. The police were tipped off about their location by an informant.

According to the reports, both the culprits are residents of Junagadh. Police have recovered goods worth Rs 2,54,000 from their possession which includes 3 gold chains, 2 mobiles, and stolen bikes.

Two cases have been filed against the accused, one each in Mahidharpura and Udhna police stations. During the investigation, the accused confessed to their crimes.

On probing, they told the police that they mostly targeted lonely old women walking down the deserted areas of the city. They used stolen bikes to commit crimes. Police is trying to track the jewellers to whom the accused sold their loot.
