‘The Conjuring 3’ Trailer Digs Up The Warren’s Darkest Case Ever [Video]

The Conjuring franchise is bouncing back after Annabelle Comes Home. The Conjuring 3 trailer brings back the genuinely haunting vibe of the first film.

Apparently, they’ve dug up ‘Ed and Lorraine Warren’s darkest case’. While there have been numerous references to the Warrens Amityville experience, looks like this time around we’re getting the full story. The Conjuring: The Devil Made Me Do It description reads:

“True horror returns. Based on the case files of Ed and Lorraine Warren. #TheConjuring: The Devil Made Me Do It, in theatres and HBO Max June 4.”

Unlike the previous two films of the conjuring series, this time we focus won’t be on investigating a haunted house. This time we’re just focusing on a court case after the haunting.

Based on the trailer the Warrens are part of a court case involving a young man named Arnie Johnson who committed the murder, but claimed that his body was possessed by a demon. The Warrens had been called in to investigate the case, but based on references in the past films we know that didn’t end well.

Michael Chaves directed the latest installment in the franchise. James Wan directed the previous Conjuring movies. However, James Wan is the producer of the film. He’s also one of the brains behind the Saw and Insidious franchises.

Chaves also directed Wan’s production The Curse of la Llorona (2019).

In an interview, Michael Chaves said that this is the biggest conjuring film ever due to various aspects.

“There’s some real dark material in the film, it’s definitely a case where the results and the characters were real, the real events and the tragedy that befell the Warren family,” the director said.
