‘The Legend of Maula Jatt’ Achieves Historic Milestone in Just 10 Days

The star-studded cast and crew thanked the audience for propelling the film to become Pakistan’s most successful one to date.

Lollywood’s latest Punjabi action flick, The Legend of Maula Jatt, has achieved a historic milestone as the film raked in Rs. 100 crore worldwide at the box office in just 10 days since its release on 13 October.

The film continues to shatter expectations and set new standards for the Pakistani film industry. Its creator, Bilal Lashari, shared a picture of a roaring Maula Jatt (Fawad Khan) standing on a barren landscape with a giant “100” in the background and “10 days” in the foreground.

“You did it. Thank you!” he wrote in the caption, thanking everyone for propelling his film into becoming Pakistan’s most successful one to date.

The star-studded cast of the hit film also expressed their gratitude to the viewers.

Fawad Khan shared the same picture on his Instagram with the caption “Joining the 100 Crore Club”.

Meanwhile, actress Humaima Malick wrote an emotional note to the fans, thanking them and explaining her journey into the entertainment industry. She also lauded the team of The Legend of Maula Jatt who had poured their “blood, sweat, and tears” into the project.

“This is the best portrayal of our film industry,” Humaima wrote and added, “I’m so proud to be part of it”.

Maula Jatt Roars at the Box Office

According to a press release, The Legend of Maula Jatt was released worldwide in over 500 cinemas across 25 countries, making it the widest-ever release for any Pakistani film yet.

In its opening week, director Bilal Lashari and producer Ammara Hikmat’s blockbuster film collected Rs. 80.08 crores, and made £611,384 from 79 locations in the UK.

The movie raked in CAD 351,563 in Canada, USD 426,581 in the United States, and USD 710,475 in the UAE. The other countries it was screened in include Australia (AUD 242,605), Germany, Netherlands, Norway, Spain, and South East Asia.

Opened to Packed but Limited Cinemas Across Pakistan

The Legend of Maula Jatt continues to captivate audiences worldwide with its impressive storytelling and stellar performances, and its box office numbers from around the world are a testament to it.

However, owing to a ‘deadlock‘ between the distributor and local cinema owners, the movie was opened to packed but limited cinemas across Pakistan since its release on 13 October.
