For those of us who grew up in the 90s and early 2000s its time to relive our childhood. While most of us have seen all of Disney’s animated and timeless classics, some of us are a bit timid when it comes to the real life adaptions of these classic stories.
So far, Disney has enjoyed a good run with its remakes of The Jungle Book and Beauty and the Beast, and it seems that it won’t be letting us down anytime soon. In fact, it’s got us roaring with excitement with the teaser trailer for The Lion King‘s real life adaptation.
We also know that the director of The Jungle Book (2016) Jon Favreau will be spearheading the film-making. We can already see the similarities in styles, specifically the life-like emotions on the animals’ faces.
The trailer was a teaser after all so let’s not get ahead of ourselves and jump to conclusions. We now know who’s playing young Simba (JD McCray) but that’s not something we learned from the trailer. What we learned from the trailer is that superstars Beyonce and Donald Glover are also on board.

A lot of the image sequences in the trailer don’t feature nothing we already don’t know. The teaser features a sequence of scenes we’ve already seen in the animated original film, such as the Pride Rock scene and the narration. The angles and shots has changed a little.
And the best part? We do know that Mufasa will still be played by James Earl Jones. That narration we heard during the trailer had us all in a state of deja vu.

The scene with Simba’s tiny paw in the paw print of his father was a new one. That really got us excited and also gushing over the lion cub.
We know that John Oliver is playing Zazu, the red billed bird. While Simba’s other best friend Pumbaa will be voiced by Seth Rogen. It makes sense for the liveliest characters to be played by comedians, so good going there.

It’s CGI like the Jungle Book. So the actors used motion capture suits. pic.twitter.com/JYw9bR3uEt
