Coronavirus claims another victim in Hollywood

The deadly coronavirus has officially been declared as a global pandemic by the World Health Organization (WHO). It was only a matter of time before world governments would start taking the deadly disease more seriously. As a result, many worldwide events have to be canceled or postponed until the situation is under control.

This also meant that some of the popular TV shows, films and theatre productions had to be postponed. Here is a list of popular shows and films that have been shut down or delayed.

Let’s start with TV series…

The Morning Show – The studio behind the exciting new Jennifer Aniston and Reese Witherspoon series announced that season 2 of the show will go on a two-week hiatus with immediate effect.

Riverdale – The series was in the process of shooting its fourth season in Vancouver until Warner Bros. halted the CW show. This was due to the fact that a member of the production team came into contact with someone who tested positive for the deadly coronavirus.

Survivor – CBS made the decision to delay production on season 41 of the reality competition series, which was set to begin filming later this month in Fiji.

Here is a list of highly anticipated films that won’t be premiering anytime soon.

‘Untitled Elvis Project’

Tom Hanks and his wife Rita Wilson Wednesday self-quarantined after announcing they had both tested positive for the coronavirus in Australia. The Baz Lurhmann directed feature has been halted as Tom Hanks stated the everyone is dealing with the situation ‘one-step-at-a-time’.

No Time to Die

The latest James Bond movie has officially been postponed. The release date for the highly-anticipated film was in April but now has been moved to November due to the coronavirus outbreak.

Mission Impossible: 7

 

The seventh edition in the iconic Tom Cruise action franchise was scheduled to shoot for three weeks in Venice, Italy. However, given that the entire country is currently on lock-down, Paramount Pictures has delayed its production plans for the highly anticipated action flick.

Fast and Furious 9

Despite Vin Diesel assuring people that the latest installment in the Fast & Furious franchise will premiere as per schedule, fans were left disappointed when reports emerged that Fast 9  has been delayed due to global crisis caused by coronavirus. The movie will now be released globally in April 2021.

Official Competition

The Penelope Cruz and Antonio Banderas starrer has suspended its shoot in Madrid due to the alarming situation of the coronavirus spread.

A Quiet Place II

Paramount Pictures has decided to delay the release of upcoming horror thriller amid coronavirus spread. As most workplaces are being asked to shut down and the officials are asking people to maintain social distance until the situation is under control.
