Bella Ciao (or Goodbye Beautiful) is an Italian folk song that dates back to early 1906. Most of you might know the famous song from the famous Netflix series La Casa De Papel or Money Heist.
Once heard, the song leaves an earworm behind, and most people can’t get it out their heads. The women in Italy working in the fields of North Italy sang it in protest due to the harsh working conditions faced by them, and since then this became a revolutionary song for the Italians. It was later changed and became the song of freedom sung by the anti-fascist resistance.
Recently a Pakistani 8-year-old girl sang Bella Ciao, and she sounds oh-so-melodious doing it!
