Spanish actress Clara Galle showcased a vibrant pink three-piece ensemble at the 2023 Cannes Film Festival that effortlessly combined two of this season’s hottest trends—barbiecore and mermaidcore.
The young starlet made her stunning red carpet debut at the 2023 Cannes Film Festival, just a month before the premiere of her upcoming film Through the Sea. Galle opted for a crop top, a long skirt with a dramatic mermaid tail, and a cropped jacket, designed exclusively for Clara by the Italian brand GCDS.
Cannes continues to be the melting pot of film and fashion, Clara Galle’s ode to youth and elegance has made her stand out at this year’s star-studded film festival.
The chic outfit drew inspiration from the looks showcased by the Milan-based fashion house for the upcoming fall/winter 2023 season during Fashion Week earlier this year.
Some of the pieces in this collection paid homage to the French fashion house founded by Coco Chanel, reflecting its influence on the brand’s creative direction. This tribute was clearly evident in the tweed fabric and tailoring of Clara Galle’s look.
The focal point of the ensemble was the barbiecore trend, evident in the vibrant pink hue that dominated the garments. The skirt, selected by Clara’s stylist Freddy Alonso, featured an ankle-length design with a pronounced mermaid tail, adding an extra touch of glamour to the overall look.
The design incorporated a back dart for a tailored fit, accentuating the curves of the Spanish diva. The closure featured three pink rhinestone buttons with the brand name, showcasing GCDS’s attention to even the smallest details.
Embracing one of the season’s predicted trends of visible underwear, Galle wore a top that resembled a bra, with its characteristic shape and a revealing back neckline. Black straps connected at the center of her back, adorned with the brand’s logo, secured the garment to the actress’s body.
Clara completed her look with a matching tweed jacket with long sleeves, shoulder pads, two pockets, and matching buttons as the skirt.
Clara wore it open, revealing the top underneath. Additionally, she adorned a simple black choker with the GCDS logo.
As for accessories, Clara Galle complemented the look with pink-tinted Jimmy Choo sunglasses and jewelry by Tous, a brand she represents, focusing on earrings and rings that combined simple designs with pearls and golden tones.
In terms of makeup, courtesy of ARMANI beauty, makeup artist Rebeca T. Figueroa created a simple look with nude-toned lips and a beige eyeliner that accentuated Clara’s feline gaze. The final touch was a bob haircut with bangs.
In a departure from the popular yellow or frosted manicures, Clara chose an inverted manicure, adding an innovative element to her overall style, with black-tipped nails.
