The young Instagram influencer Ekaterina Karaglanova was brutally murdered by her ex-boyfriend. The 24-year-old was looking forward to celebrating her birthday soon.

In a jealous rage, her ex-boyfriend, Maxim Gareev killed the Instagram influencer. Her body was later found stuffed in a suitcase in her flat in the Russian capital Moscow.
Moscow police later released a video of the 33-year-old confessing to killing the social media starlet.
In his confession, Maxim cited his reason for killing his ex-girlfriend to be her rejection.
“She repeatedly insulted me, humiliated me, my sexual performance and downplayed my financial resources.”
He even detailed how he stabbed Ekaterina Karaglanova five times in the neck, eventually killing her. He then placed her body in a suitcase but left it there as he couldn’t think of a way to dispose of the body.

He placed his own blood-soaked clothing in a separate suitcase and dumped it at a landfill site. Maxim Gareyev stated that he did regret it and will cooperate with the investigation.
“I couldn’t take it any longer. I hit her with a knife at least five times in the neck and chest area.”
