Could Pakistani filmmakers register protests over the Hollywood film’s earnings even now?
Interestingly in Sindh, cinema houses are obligated to allocate the majority of screens for local films. After the popularity of Marvel Cinematic Universe’s Dr. Strange in the Madness of the Multiverse irked some Pakistani filmmakers they registered their protest.
They held a press conference to protest why their films were being pulled off screens to make room for the MCU installment. Even approaching the Sindh High Court. The SHC later ruled in their favor stating that cinema houses must allot the majority of screens to local films.
This was an effort to level the playing field between Pakistani film and foreign film. However, audiences just asked Pakistani filmmakers to produce better content.
