Was Meghan Markle Not Invited to Queen Elizabeth II Funeral?

Although the Duchess of Sussex, Meghan Markle was there for the funeral of Prince Philip, she did not attend the last rites for Queen Elizabeth II.

Word is that the Suits actress was not invited to the royal funeral, as per EOnline. Since she did not join her husband Prince Harry for the funeral and final services of the British monarch. The Duke of Sussex made his way to Balmoral Castle alone.

According to EOnline, royal expert Katie Nicholl said;

“An invitation to join the family at the estate was not extended to Meghan, … It’s understood that the family wanted Prince Harry to be there, even though he was unable to get to Balmoral in time to see his grandmother,” Nicholl tells ET.

The understanding is that the American actress was not invited. However, there is also word that she will go to Balmoral another time.

“But Meghan, the Duchess of Sussex, was not, we understand, invited to join the family, …. She has said she will go to Balmoral another time. But I think it is quite significant that Prince Harry traveled to Balmoral on his own without his wife.”

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle were scheduled to attend the WellChild Awards in London. However, following the word of the British monarch’s declining health, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex cancelled their appearance, and Prince Harry embarked on a plane, solo, from jetted from London to Scotland solo.

Prince Harry’s plane landed shortly after the news of the queen’s death was made public. Meanwhile, the queen’s son, King Charles III, his wife, Camilla, and Princess Anne were all already in Scotland.

Prince William, Prince Andrew, Prince Edward, and his wife, Sophie, Countess of Sussex, all arrived in Scotland earlier in the day.

Kate Middleton also did not join her husband, Prince William. She was seen in Windsor, picking up her children, Prince George, Princess Charlotte, and Prince Louis, from school.

Queen Elizabeth II died on Thursday at the age of 96. Her death was confirmed by an official statement from the royal family’s social media accounts.
