Indian Idol judge Neha Kakkar, was recently paralyzed with discomfort when a contestant forcibly planted a kiss on her cheek during the show. This also left the other judges Anu Malik and Vishal Dadlani in shock. The show host Aditya Narayan tried to step in and stop the contestant.

What Went Down

In the promo for the upcoming episode of Indian Idol 11, we see a contestant dressed in traditional Gujarati attire walk on stage with gifts and a pink-colored teddy bear for Neha Kakkar.

The contestant then asks Neha if she remembers him. At first, Neha looks confused but then realization dawns on her face and she hints at the fact that they have met before.

Neha accepted the gifts from the contestant and moved closer to hug him as a gesture of gratitude for his kindness. However, the contestant grabs her rather hastily and forcibly kissed her. The judge then pushed him away and scrambled to her seat.

Her fellow judge Vishal Dadlani revealed on Twitter that he suggested calling the police, but Neha didn’t want to so he dropped it.

Admiration Gone too Far

Neha Kakkar’s fans and netizens alike are calling this sexual harassment. The advances were clearly unwanted and the discomfort it caused Neha was plastered on her face.

While some people will argue that the contestant was just an overzealous fan, let’s not forget that’s what stalkers are. Plenty of celebrities have had encounters with a fan-cum-stalker. It’s necessary to deter harassment with accountability.
