In a heartwarming encounter, West Indies cricketer Joshua Da Silva’s mother had an unforgettable meeting with Virat Kohli during the ongoing Test match series between India and the West Indies.
Her excitement and admiration for Kohli reached new heights when she got the chance to meet her idol in person. Expressing her admiration for Kohli, Joshua’s mother said, “Kohli is one of the best batsmen in our lifetime. So it is an honor for me to meet him and for my son to be on the same field as him.”
She further added, “Virat Kohli embodies everything that a mother wants in her child – he is a family man, a team player, and incredibly disciplined. It would be a dream come true for Joshua to play for RCB alongside Kohli.”
During a lively stump mic chat on Day 1 of the 2nd Test, West Indies wicketkeeper, Joshua shared a delightful revelation with Kohli.
He told the prolific Indian batsman that his mother is an ardent fan of him and was on her way to the venue just to watch him play. “My mom called me and told me she’s coming to watch the match for Virat Kohli, I couldn’t believe it,” Joshua excitedly conveyed to Kohli on Day 1.
On Day 2, the emotional moment unfolded as Joshua’s mother finally had the opportunity to meet Kohli near the Team India bus. Overwhelmed with joy, she hugged the cricketing superstar and tears of happiness streamed down her face.

The West Indies star’s mother was present at the stadium on Friday to witness Kohli’s brilliant century, ending his long drought of an overseas Test ton.
The former India skipper’s knock of 121 helped India reach a total of 438 runs in the first innings, and they maintained a lead of 352 runs at the close of Day 2 after picking one wicket.
