Actress Yashma Gill has requested prayers for the safety of individuals stranded in a cable car in Battagram.
As the Pakistan Army initiates rescue efforts, the situation remains tense for the people stuck mid-air.
The incident unfolded on Tuesday morning when two wires of a cable car in Battagram’s Allai tehsil snapped, leaving at least eight people, including schoolchildren and teachers, stranded at an altitude of over 2,000 meters. The individuals, which also include schoolchildren and teachers, have been stranded since 7 am.
Yashma Gill used her Instagram platform to ask her followers to pray for the safe return of those trapped in the chairlift. She wrote,

The children, who were using the cable car to reach school in the mountainous area of Battagram, were left stranded in a precarious position.
The Hazara Division Commissioner’s Office swiftly reached out to the National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA) and other relevant authorities to request a helicopter for the rescue operation.
The Pakistan Army, in coordination with the PDMA and NDMA, dispatched helicopters to the site to expedite the rescue mission. The complexity of the operation is amplified by gusty winds in the region and the sensitive state of the cable car, which is hanging by a single wire.
Rescue workers have begun laying down nets to prepare for any possible mishaps, and specialized troops trained in sling operations are partaking in this risky venture. The military helicopters are hovering near the stranded cable car, while rescue teams carefully assess the situation.
As the military helicopters cautiously approach the cable car, the delicate balance of the lift is susceptible to wind pressure and rotor wash.
Authorities are also keeping a close eye on the weather, as updates from the Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) indicate a possibility of rain in the area.
