Practice what you preach has always been good advice. Even more so when your life revolves around being in the public eye. This time it’s actor Yasir Hussain who’s being called out for his double standards.
Hussain has been extremely vocal against the growing popularity of Turkish TV show Dirilis : Ertugrul in Pakistan, and the subsequent airing of its Urdu version on PTV.
“When your brother is fired from his bank job, sister is out of school, and father is laid off from his job, and instead Turkish people are enrolled instead of them, then you might know why I’m saying this,” said Hussain. He went to add that “PTV is national TV. Remember this.”
But could it be that his criticism of the hit Turkish period drama has little to do with his patriotic nature? Fans sure seem to think so.

A video from August has been going viral again, where Yasir Hussain and Meray Paas Tum Ho actress Hira Mani are dancing to hit Bollywood song You Are My Soniya.

The video has led to comments about Hussain being two-faced in his views. After all, if we are promoting national industries, shouldn’t that apply to music as well?
There’s little doubt that internet trolls will jump at the slightest opportunity to attack someone, and are often quite unforgiving. But there is something to be said about how easy it is to forget your moral standing when personal life gets involved.

True, no one deserves to be trolled online. But celebrities and public figures also need to be reminded of the responsibility and influence they carry with being in the public eye and the impact they have on people.
