Popular YouTuber KSI has come under fire using a racial slur in a recent video he made with his group the Sidemen.
The YouTuber was spotted saying the word ‘Paki’, a derogatory term used to describe Pakistani person, while playing a game of Countdown.
KSI has since acknowledged and apologized for using the slur, and has said that he will be taking some “time off” from social media to reflect on his behavior.
Less than an hour after the video went viral, KSI tweeted,
I wanna apologize for saying a racial slur in a recent Sidemen video. There’s no excuse, no matter the circumstances, I shouldn’t have said it and I’m sorry. I’ve always said to my audience that they shouldn’t worship me or put me on a pedestal because I’m human.
He further added, “I’m not perfect, I’m gonna mess up in life, and lately I’ve been messing up a lot. So I’ve decided I’m gonna just take a break from social media for a while.”
KSI and his Sidemen colleagues were seen laughing at his insensitive jibe in the video, which has since been removed from the platform.
Twitter was not too sympathetic with the content creator’s antics as several people schooled him.
