Actress Yumna Zaidi is set to make her big screen debut with the upcoming feature film Nayab that is all about the game we love — cricket.
The Parizaad star shared a minute-long teaser of the upcoming film on Wednesday. The actress wrote in the caption of her Instagram post,
Immensely excited to share the title motion poster of my first feature film for Pakistan Nayab, the idea and making is so close to my heart ….. sharing it with all of you.
The clip zooms in on a bullet ridden wall with a cricket ball and bat as Yumna’s character shouts, “Akka, tum dekhna, aik din poori dunya ko kehte sunno gai. Naam yaad rakhna [Lord, one day you’ll hear the world say it. Remember the name],” followed by loud cheers from the crowd.
Yumna Zaid is excited about the upcoming project as she shared her thoughts about the film with a local media outlet, stating, “The team is absolutely great and accommodating. Right now I am at the training for couple of months, working for this project”.
She further gave insight to her character, saying, ““This [Nayab] character is about a girl who is passionate about cricket, trying to reach a certain point with her brother’s help as she struggles. He helms her reach her dreams”.
Yumna Zaidi will star alongside Qatil Haseenaon Ke Naam actor Fawad Khan, and veteran Pakistani actor Jawad Sheikh in the upcoming film produced by Rumina Umair and Umair Irfani with executive producers Agnes and David Kenney of Kenneyz Films. The screenplay for Nayab is written by Ali Abbas Naqvi, who also penned the script for Ahmed Ali Akbar and Mansha Pasha starrer Laal Kabootar.
