Actress Zhalay Sarhadi revealed that she had gone through three miscarriages which gave her immense trauma and stress.
In a candid interview with Mathira, Zhalay opened up about her struggles with miscarriages and how it has affected her physical and mental health.
The actress/model also highlighted how society makes such sensitive issues a taboo without finding any solutions.
Zhalay appeared as a guest on Mathira’s popular talk show. She revealed details about her experience with miscarriages. She highlighted the intrusive and unnecessary questions that women often face.
When I tell people that I have a daughter, they ask me why did I not have more children. How am I supposed to explain to them that I’ve had three really bad miscarriages in my life, due to which I have hypothyroid and they were not because I diet or exercise, they just happened to me.
She also spoke about the stigma surrounding mental health issues in society and how it’s important to seek help when needed.
“Your mental health is as important as your physical health and for your physical health, you need a doctor, similarly, for your mental health, you have other specialists like psychologists and psychiatrists that you need to go to. I have been to a psychiatrist,” she said.
