3G and 4G Services Start Restoring After Two-Day Suspension

After a two-day suspension, mobile internet services have started to partially restore across various areas of Islamabad and Rawalpindi.

The services were suspended following the announcement of a protest march by a religious group earlier this week.

According to official sources, mobile data connectivity has been restored in several localities, while in some areas users continue to face disruptions.

The Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA) had suspended mobile internet services at the directives of the Ministry of Interior as a precautionary security measure.

Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi had approved the suspension, which began two days ago, to prevent any potential unrest or misuse of digital platforms during the protest.

Containers were placed at key entry points in both cities, and security was heightened to maintain law and order.

According to the sources, the restoration process is being carried out gradually, depending on the evolving security situation.

Complete restoration is expected once the risk of unrest subsides and normalcy returns to the twin cities.
