4,000 Housing Units for Low-Income Households: Sindh Minister Unveils Housing Project

KARACHI: Syed Nasir Hussain Shah, the Sindh Minister for Local Government and Housing & Town Planning, inaugurated the Public Economy Housing Project.

The initiative is aimed at providing 4,000 housing units to low-income households.

According to an official statement, the project will involve the construction of single-unit bungalows spanning 80, 100, 120, and 200 square feet.

These units will be developed across a sprawling area of 250 acres within Scheme 45 Tesar Town, under the oversight of the Malir Development Authority (MDA).

During the inauguration ceremony, Minister Nasir Shah highlighted that this visionary project is aligned with the vision of Chairman PPP Bilawal Bhutto Zardari.

The aim is to extend maximum relief and essential amenities to the people, making homeownership dreams accessible to low-income households.

Shah also announced an additional initiative on the directives of Bilawal Bhutto Zardari, wherein the Sindh government will allocate 3500 plots to the families of martyrs from the Pakistan Army, Rangers, Police, and civil society activists who have been victims of terrorism incidents.

This housing endeavor follows the recent inauguration of another low-cost housing scheme by the Karachi Development Authority (KDA), reinforcing the commitment of the government to address the housing needs of lower-income groups.

Expressing his confidence in the timely and transparent completion of the scheme, Minister Shah commended the efforts of MDA officers.

The Director General of MDA, Muhammad Yasin Shar, hailed the project as a historic milestone that will turn the dream of home ownership into a reality for lower-income families.

Secretary MDA Muhammad Irfan explained that the construction work is already underway on the site, accompanied by the development of essential utilities such as water, electricity, gas, and streetlights, along with the expansion of wide roads.

The housing project will also prioritize security, incorporating modern camera installations, a petrol pump, a highway link gate, and modern parking facilities for the convenience and safety of residents.
