LAHORE: The Lahore Chamber of Commerce and Industry (LCCI) President, Kashif Anwar, expressed praise for six development projects launched by Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif on Sunday.
The transformative initiatives span various sectors, including healthcare, transportation, and energy infrastructure, with the potential to drive progress in the region.
One of the key highlights of the event was the unveiling of the Rs. 50 billion Medical City, a state-of-the-art healthcare complex aimed at revolutionizing medical services.
With cutting-edge facilities and advanced equipment, the Medical City promises to elevate healthcare standards and cater to a larger number of patients.
Additionally, the soft launch of the Rs. 52 billion National Health Support Programme took place, targeting underprivileged sections of society.
The initiative aims to ensure access to healthcare, providing essential medical services and financial support to those in need, fostering a healthier and more inclusive society.
Addressing transportation needs, the SL-3 Lahore Ring Road project was launched, expected to alleviate traffic congestion and enhance connectivity, making commuting more efficient and convenient for residents.
Furthermore, the Shahdara to Kala Shah Kaku Metro Bus extension project expands the existing public transportation system, catering to a wider population and promoting eco-friendly commuting options.
In the energy sector, the 1,263-MW Punjab Thermal Power Plant in Jhang was inaugurated, playing a crucial role in meeting the region’s energy demands and contributing to sustainable and affordable energy solutions.
LCCI President Kashif Anwar commended the Prime Minister and the provincial government for their forward-thinking initiatives.
He added that these projects would stimulate economic growth and development in the region, ultimately benefiting the business community.
In addition, he believed that these projects marked significant progress for Punjab and Pakistan as a whole, uplifting citizens’ lives and fostering national development.
