JHELUM: A high-profile armed robbery has occurred in the city of Jhelum, sparking heightened vigilance among local authorities.
The incident involved a property dealer who was targeted by armed robbers posing as police officers, leaving the community on edge.
The victim, identified as Imran Rafiq, was traveling from Rawalpindi to Sarai Alamgir near Jhelum when his vehicle fell prey to two individuals disguised as police officers.
In a daring heist, the criminals seized a staggering amount of Rs. 22.5 million, which represented proceeds from a recent property transaction.
The assailants, armed with firearms, subjected Rafiq to the ordeal, rendering him defenseless.
Jhelum’s Mangala police station swiftly responded by registering a case and launching a manhunt to track down the unidentified culprits.
Coincidentally, a parallel incident unfolded in Rawalpindi, where a separate group of robbers executed a theft involving jewelry and foreign currency amounting to over Rs. 7 million.
