KARACHI: On Saturday, an abandoned British-era structure fell in the old city district, causing some property damage but no injuries, according to the police.
As per the officials, the decaying structure that housed the City Boys Secondary School was located on Serai Road, Lahori Sharbat Gali in Mithadar.
According to Mithadar SHO Shahzad Ilyas, sections of a three-storey structure with businesses on the bottom floor collapsed onto the main road, damaging numerous motorcycles that were parked outside.
He claimed that despite being empty, the structure had been deemed “hazardous” by the relevant authorities.
Earlier, a multi-story building in Karachi DHA’s Khayaban-i-Shamsher also tipped to one side, causing fear and panic among residents who approached the police for further investigation.
