LAHORE: A video capturing a distressing incident of a group of armed men assaulting security guards within Lahore’s Defence Housing Authority (DHA) has gained widespread attention on social media platforms.
In a disturbing trend, influential individuals have taken to imitating authority by equipping themselves with police lights and accompanied by security personnel, creating a spectacle while navigating through city streets and traffic.
The viral video showcases an incident where a cluster of men targeted a security guard stationed at a high-end residential society in the provincial capital.
The guard attempted to halt the progress of an SUV and two double-cabin vehicles forming a caravan.
A witness at a nearby eatery managed to capture the unsettling incident on camera, leaving onlookers astonished.
The footage revealed that one of the guards sought to prevent a white Toyota Hilux Vigo from exiting the premises.
As a result, a group of at least four armed individuals hastily disembarked from the vehicle and proceeded to physically assault the DHA security personnel.
Subsequently, other security guards on the scene intervened to restrain the armed assailants.
However, the attackers continued their aggression, severely beating the guard.
One of the culprits resorted to firing shots from an assault rifle to incite fear among bystanders and staff members.
Following the assault, the armed group managed to flee the scene before the arrival of the police.
