HYDERABAD: The Board of Revenue (BoR) Sindh and NADRA Technologies Limited (NTL), a subsidiary of the National Database and Registration Authority (NADRA), have signed an agreement to install biometric identity verification systems in all the offices of the Sub-Registrar Property in the province.
According to the details, the agreement was signed at the Revenue House in Clifton, Karachi, where a number of relevant officials were present.
Abdul Wajid Shaikh, Automation of Stamps and Registration Project Director, and Malik Saleem, Deputy Director NTL, signed the agreement on behalf of their respective organizations.
The implementation of the biometric system will improve accuracy in the identification of individuals involved in property transactions, including sellers and buyers.
The officials claimed that this would lead to increased transparency in the property registration process and eliminate the risk of fraud and impersonation.
Besides, the NADRA-linked biometric system is a safe and effective method of identifying individuals in Pakistan, and its deployment in the property registration process will help curb illegal property transfers.
The biometric solution has already been deployed in public and private sector entities in Pakistan and is considered to have an edge over conventional identification methods, the attendees noted.
