ISLAMABAD: The Capital Development Authority (CDA) has started work on a large green belt along IJP Road with the aim of enhancing and preserving green spaces in the capital.
The contractor is utilizing heavy machinery and plans to complete the work by the end of the month.
An official from CDA stated that the completion date for IJP Road was set for March 23rd, therefore the work on the green belt must be finished prior to that.
The plan includes planting thousands of trees along the green belt, starting from Pirwadhai Morr and extending to the Faizabad area.
The CDA also claims that the layout for IJP Road was designed to safeguard the green cover during construction.
It’s important to note that beautification and development work on green belts throughout the city has begun.
Additionally, PKR 21 million has been allocated for landscaping, allied works, natural stone walls, and other materials to beautify and protect the green belts from encroachments.

A Mega project that was sharply needed by the residents of Rawalpindi and Islamabad. Well Done PTI. No one would like to drive his car on this road before this project.
the green belt on both side need to be completed.At a moment you can see the old car junk yard accopy the whole green belt on Rawalpindi side.
In reply to Mr. Ilyas khan, Kufr toota khuda khuda kar ke and not qahar toota which is completely the opposite of what is intended.
There is a big mafia of autos every where. They must be removed immediately.
Apparently one serious issue observed so far in this new IJP road layout is that CDA has not made any closed u turns on this road as is done later on Srinagar highway.
Thousands of people live on Rawalpindi side, Dhok Hasu, westridge etc who have to commute to Islamabad. There is no proper closed u turn for those till an open u turn near Social welfare hospital which would result in people going in the wrong direction, crossing the divider particularly rickshaws n motorcycles which may result in serious accidents. Same is observed from double road till pirwadahi stop.
CDA to please review the layout at this stage and make few closed u turns like Srinagar highway to avoid people going wrong way, crossing the centre divider and avoiding serious accidents on IJP road.
IJP road should have traffic police of ICT every time there to smooth traffic flow. Huge number of plants and trees should be there for better Air Index

The Government did a great effort to complete this project in soon, Naize destroyed and further more struggling to complete destroying pakistan.
Thanks to the current govt for fast forwarding the construction work on IJP. But issue is it will not serve the purpose until a service road from Faizabad till end will not support the main road, and this land of road is encroached by big qabza groups.
Humble request,
i) Truks / dumpers are parked on the new constructed road which will increase in future and again traffic jam will occur.
ii) Busses and weagons stops on this road immediate after leaving adda for waiting of passengers. This causes traffic slow down jam at this point.
iii) After completion of this road, the commercial traffic must not be allowed on service road, as causes huge pollution ( dust and noise). The rush of heavy traffic also causes serious accidents. This service road must be reserved for inhabitants and private are vehicles.
ACTION IS REQUESTED TO STOP THESE ACTIVITIES TO BENIFIT THE EXPENSE ON THIS PROJECT IN REAL SENSE.
Kindly forward these points to concerned quarter for action.
Plz CDA officials special care must be taken to avoid entry of heavy traffic trucks, loaders from IJP to I10/1 residential area, service road west I10/1, they are making life miserable of residents living in streets along the road. Plz do something.
It’s a good work but sorry to say The CDA doesn’t clean the green belt properly mean that the mechanics are still here and park their cars on green belts even their shops are not also in the map and kindly make green belts properly if you want to maintain the beauty
