ISLAMABAD: The Capital Development Authority (CDA) is now reaching out to land affectees in their areas to address their grievances after changing its policy in this regard.
As per the details, many people whose land was acquired by the CDA and who were entitled to alternative land have been attempting for years to obtain their due plots from the civic agency.
However, the CDA’s new management changed the policy and decided to meet affectees at their places to resolve the issues.
On Monday, CDA Chairman retired Capt. Mohammad Usman tweeted, “A weekly schedule is being devised to visit different Mouzas and acquired areas to address grievances and matters related to rehabilitation.”
According to the sources, a team from the engineering wing also visited the areas, since the development work in CDA’s Park Enclave II and III was stalled due to pending issues.
The aggrieved were of the view that CDA controlled 68 percent of Park Enclave II and 85 percent of Park Enclave III.
The CDA teams persuaded the landowners that their legitimate concerns would be addressed on a priority basis and that they would be required to hand over possession to the civic agency in order to expedite development work.
Due to the pending built-up property (BuP) awards, the civic body was also unable to obtain possession of the acquired land from the affected individuals, said the sources.
Due to a delay in the announcement of the BuP awards, it was unable to begin development work in D-13, E-13, F-13, C-13, C-16, I-17, and H-16.
The DC is of the view that this change in policy will help resolve all the pending issues and the work on its implementation has already been expedited.
