CDA Chairman Prioritizes Sports, Plantation, and Environmental Initiatives in Islamabad

ISLAMABAD: The Chairman of the Capital Development Authority (CDA), Captain (Retired) Noor-ul-Amin Mengal, has called for the establishment of sports academies in major parks in Islamabad to encourage healthy activities among children.

During a meeting focused on environmental issues, the Chairman also instructed the placement of organic signage made of wood and stone at prominent locations in parks to assist visitors.

He also stated that a bird home should be established at F-9 Park. The meeting was attended by the CDA Member of Environment and other high-ranking officials.

The meeting also approved the creation of parks in Sector I-11 of Islamabad.

The Chairman directed the planting of 0.5 million saplings of various species in the city during the upcoming spring season, with the participation of volunteers and the public encouraged.

He also emphasized the need for geo-tagging the plantations to ensure their protection through digital monitoring.

The Human Resource Department was instructed to quickly recruit forest guards for vacant positions in the Margalla Forest Area, and four additional nurseries were approved to be established in the city to promote planting.
