ISLAMABAD: Capital Development Authority (CDA) is set to launch mega development projects in rural areas, worth a total of Rs. 10 billion.
The engineering wing has already called bids for the first phase, which includes 17 projects with an estimated cost of Rs. 2.8 billion.
The CDA plans to carry out rehabilitation and upgradation work on different roads in Shah Allah Ditta, Golra, Sangjani, Jodh, Sarai Kharboza, Gokina, Mandla, Bari Imam, Sanjalian, Banigala, Phulgran, Sakreela, Naiabadi, Huzaifa Town, Bhara Kahu, and Malpur.
According to sources, for the first time in its history, the CDA will start development works in Union Councils in all three constituencies of Islamabad.
This comes after Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif gave the go-ahead for the CDA to initiate development work in rural areas in February.
Sardar Mehtab Advocate, the PML-N Secretary General, believes that the CDA’s efforts are purely intended for the welfare of the people of rural areas and not for any political gains or upcoming elections.
Tahir Mahmood, Director of Work at the CDA, revealed that these schemes had been equally distributed among all union councils.
The completion of all 17 projects is expected to be done in three months, as the government is determined to ensure timely and efficient development works in Islamabad’s rural areas.

Appreciated.
Good initiative
Every effort in the public interest is welcome
that’s great news for a C1 class contractor
I want to take part in this projects
This seems odd as sardar Mehtab is not the Gen Sec of PML(N). Rather he is loggerheads with his party. These news of CDA doesn’t make sense.
