CDA Takes Action Against Encroachments in Islamabad

ISLAMABAD: The Capital Development Authority (CDA) carried out a series of anti-encroachment operations in various areas of Islamabad on Tuesday.

These operations were conducted in collaboration with the Islamabad administration, police, and other relevant departments, as per the instructions of CDA Chairman Noor Ul Amin Mengal.

The Enforcement Directorate, along with the authorities mentioned, conducted anti-encroachment drives in Shah Allah Ditta, Melody, Bari Imam, I-8 Faizabad, G-7, G-9, and Behara Kahu.

According to sources, the operations resulted in the seizure of 13 trucks loaded with goods and the demolition of several structures.

The operation commenced near Shah Allah Ditta village, where heavy machinery was employed to demolish 24 rooms, 6 washrooms, 5 kitchens, and 1 gate.

Furthermore, approximately 10 Kanal of government land was reclaimed during this operation.

A significant anti-encroachment operation took place in Bhara Kahu with the support of the district administration, targeting encroachments in the area.

Similarly, in Sector G-7, the action was taken against parking area and roadside encroachments, leading to the removal of several encroachments and the confiscation of goods equivalent to one truckload.

In addition, sector I-8 Faizabad was also subjected to a thorough anti-encroachment operation, resulting in the seizure of goods equivalent to one truckload and the demolition of several encroachments.

In Bari Imam, the occupying mafia’s attempt to encroach upon government land was thwarted through the demolition of a room and a boundary wall.

Moreover, in Sector G-9/1 I&T Center of Islamabad, located in front of residential houses, nine trucks loaded with goods were seized after encroachments outside the shops were removed in an operation targeting encroachers.

  1. What about encroachments in D12. Owners have erected fences outside their boundaries and in some cases have put in screening gates. A thorough check of the sector will reveal the truth.

    1. One house in particular which is a corner house has grown hedges about 5 feet all around the corner makes a complete blind spot for vehicles crossing the T-junction..between D-12/4 and D-12/3 opposite the Margala Avenue extension…

      1. Regarding this intersection, please remember that it’s a dual-service road. That means a gap of one road with good visibility. If people were to stop at the intersection (as per driving rules to temporarily stop at an intersection before turning) they would be able to see oncoming traffic with ease. It’s a dual road on both sides with plenty of space to see. There should be no issue. Similarly, oncoming traffic loves using the road for speeding and the T-Chowk for drifting and that is the main nuisance. The speed limit is 60 and people are travelling at speeds >120 as if its a highway. Obviously, ‘blind ends’ don’t exist on highways and people imagining this road to be a highway will find it to be an issue.

    2. Enroachments in D12 are not like those in other sectors. None of the residents have established residential rooms etc in spare spaces. Rather they have utilized green spaces next to their houses to make them clean and green. A thorough check will reveal that places that residents have not maintained have weeds and shrubs growing in them. Also, non D12 residents love coming to visit the view and then dumping trash into unmaintained green spaces. The places that residents have kept maintained are beautiful and are causing no harm.

      1. Very true , they have only put more greenery all around . Main issue at the moment is E- sectors, where illegal encroachment are seen and living there . God knows when will they be cleared .

  2. Good job done but question arises that these encroachments were not erected over night. Where were the CDA inspectors while these encroachments took place. Who is the prime culprit?

  3. Sir I have already done a complain against illegal ancroachment made on service roads from dhok kala khan to Khanna pull which also comes under CDA boundaries.but still no action is taken.peoples are suffering very much hinderance as well as traffic.

  5. For Gods sake ,I request the authorities to remove encroachment from F 12 and G 12 and clear that portion from the well known area called Meer Abadi in Islamabad F 12

  6. Good effort. But this should be without any discrimination. Can the Chairman visit F 8 markaz and see big encroachments near PSO pump

  7. اسلام آباد ہر سیکٹر کی مین مارکیٹس اور سب سیکٹر کی مارکیٹس کے برآمدے اور فٹ پاتھ غیر قانونی طور پر قبقہ کئے ہوئے ہین اسطرف سب سے پہلے توجہ دی جائے جبکہ دینی لحاظ سے ان پر بیٹھ کر روزی کمانا حرام بھی ہے۔ دوسرے CDA کے ارباب اخطیار یہ بتا سکتے ہین کہ قبضہ گروپ کو انکے آنے کا پہلے سے کیسے پتہ چل جاتا ہے اور یہ سامان فٹپاتھون سے غائب کر دیتے ہین اور انتطامیہ ٹوٹا پھوٹا سامان ٹرک مین ڈالکر لے جاکر اپنی کاروائ کا افسران کو سب صفائ کی اطلاع دے کر اپنی زمہ داری سے عہدہ برآہو جاتے ہین جسپر حکومت کے لا کھون روپے پٹرول اور دیگر مد مین خر چ ہوے ہوتے ہین۔ جہان صبح کاروائ ہوتی ہے وہان شام کو پھر وہی حال ہوتا ہے اور قبصہ گروپ کو تسلی ہو جاتی ہے کہ 4/6 مہینہ کے بعد ہی پھر CDA تنگ کرنے آئیگا، ارباب اخطیا اسکے بارے مین کچھ روشنی ڈالنا پسند فرمائینگے اگر مصروفیت مین سے کچھ ٹائم ملے تو بری مہربانی ہوگی۔

  8. Removal of encroachment should be coupled with heavy fine so that encroachers should not reappear after the action.

  9. Good job done by CDA,when the same action will be taken at the entrance of I-14 sector, where auto shops exist.

  10. بہت اچھا اقدام ہے لیکن کیا اس مہنگائ کے دور میں آپ نے کتنوں سے روزگار چھین لیا پہلے سے کتنی بیروزگار تھی اب مزید کتنوں کو بیروزگار کردیا کیا حکومت کے پاس ان لوگوں کو دو وقت کی روٹی دینے کا کوئ منصوبہ ہے
