CDA to Create New Post of ‘Member Resources’ In Its Board

ISLAMABAD: The Capital Development Authority (CDA) has announced the creation of a new post in its board titled ‘Member Resources’, The Nation has reported.

According to the publication, the position has been created to accommodate Captain Retired Muhammad Anwar-ul-Haq, a BS-19 officer of the Pakistan Administrative Service.

Captain Haq has served in various government departments, including as Deputy Commissioner Rawalpindi in the Punjab government and in the Islamabad Capital Territory Administration.

He was earlier posted to the CDA through the Ministry of Interior in September 2022 but was unable to secure a desired posting and subsequently joined the Ministry of Energy without taking up any position in the civic authority.

Sources close to the matter have revealed that Captain Haq was offered the post of Member Estate, but he declined the high-profile position to avoid controversy, expressing his preference to head the administration wing, which was not materialized.

With CDA now being under a new Chairman, Captain Haq has returned to the authority and will replace the current Member Environment, Waqas Hanif, who is a grade-19 officer of the Inland Revenue Services, in his new role.

Waqas Hanif, on the other hand, will be accommodated within the CDA board through the newly created position of ‘Member Resources’. He will now be responsible for streamlining the revenue and enhancing it as well.

It is important to note that, unlike his predecessor, the current Chairman of CDA, Captain (Retired) Noor ul Amin Mengal, is bringing in his own team to the civic authority and has posted several officers who were serving on deputation in the authority.

Typically, a member is posted with the approval of the CDA Chairman, and the formal approval is granted by the federal cabinet, followed by a proper notification issued by the Ministry of Interior.

Additionally, three officers, including the Secretary CDA Board, Director Law Muhammad Oranzaib, and Deputy Director Enforcement Binish Noor, were recently repatriated on the Chairman’s orders, while Director Public Relations, Syed Asif Shah, was sent back to his parent ministry on his request to leave the authority.

In the past few weeks, the human resource directorate has sent about half a dozen requisitions for new officers of different cadres, who will be posted on vacant seats once they are at the disposal of the authority.
