Chairman CDA Orders Plantation Ahead of Spring in Islamabad

ISLAMABAD: The Chairman of the Capital Development Authority (CDA), Captain (retired) Noorul Amin Mengal, has instructed the environment division officials to conduct extensive landscaping and beautification work in Islamabad in preparation for the spring season.

During a meeting, the CDA chairman urged the officials to involve the public and volunteers in planting various species of flowers and fruit trees.

Other officials such as the Member of the Environment and the Director General of the Environment were also present at the meeting.

Captain (retired) Noorul Amin also stressed the importance of post-plantation monitoring through digital means to ensure the survival of the maximum number of plants.

The meeting also resulted in the decision to establish four more nurseries in Islamabad and to enhance recreational activities, sports, and park maintenance.

The environment division will also put up organic signboards made of stone and wood in parks for visitor guidance and create a bird home in F-9 Park.

  1. Would be very good . Bushes need to be spread as well to maintain moisture and avoid early summer . Motorbikes often seen taking thick branches along kashmir highway worries sometimes.

  2. Well done CDA….please consider remote sector 1/14 For plantations…kibdly our this sector as a model in rawalpindi area…

  3. Keeping our financial position in mind, it would be good to also plant fruit trees and vegetable patches all over like Sri Lanka did. People can pluck them from wayside etc to relief starvation.
