Chairman, DG RDA Discuss Peri-Urban Plan for Rawalpindi District

RAWALPINDI: A meeting was presided over by the Director General of Rawalpindi Development Authority (RDA) Mehmood Murtaza and Chairman of RDA Muhammad Saif Anwar Jappa to discuss the creation of peri-urban structure plans for 4 of the tehsil headquarters in the district.

As per the details, Mott Macdonald Pakistan (MMP) Company consultant gave a thorough presentation on the peri-urban structure plan in the past few weeks.

Besides, both officials claimed that the consultant had confirmed with the relevant local governments and discussed the extensive work for the preparation of regional development plans for four tehsils of Rawalpindi, including Gujjar Khan, Taxila, Kallar Syedan, and Kahuta.

In order to update the Peri-Urban Structure Plan, the DG said that RDA town planners had provided input and data had been shared for the information.

Furthermore, the sources informed that this plan may then be evaluated and presented to the RDA Governing Body for approval.

The RDA Master Plan would be given greater attention, and more discussions on this plan might be held, according to DG Muhammad Saif Anwar Jappa.

It is relevant to mention here that RDA, Local Government, and other departments were given instructions to create peri-urban structural plans by Divisional Commissioner Saqib Manan
